CASCADE: Calibrated and Systematic Characterization, Attribution, and Detection of Extremes
Risks of extreme weather events pose some of the greatest hazards to society and the environment. This project advances the nation’s ability to identify and project
climate extremes
and advance scientific capabilities in climate analysis. Researchers are investigating whether and how current extreme events are affected by global
climate change
and how these effects will be amplified by future climate change.
